SDMC forms task force to oversee sanitation work

South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) on Saturday constituted a task force to keep an eye on proper utilisation of resources and ensure full dedication of sanitation workers and supervisors.

SDMC Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat said the task force will conduct surprise inspections of all ongoing sanitation works.

The concerned Additional Commissioner will chair the task force. The zonal deputy Commissioner, senior assistant Commissioners and responsible officers of the sanitation wing will function as its members.

After taking stock of the current situation, Sehrawat said that more efforts will be needed to streamline the sanitation exercise.

"If additional efforts are taken by all stakeholders at all levels, the image of the localities under SDMC jurisdiction will improve and its ranking in the Swachhata Sarvekshan will certainly see strides. The department must take sanitation and cleanliness efforts as part of a noble mission," the Mayor said.
