SDMC clears encroachments in Mayapuri industrial area
New Delhi: Intensifying their drive against encroachments, SDMC on Wednesday remove the encroachments in Mayapuri Industrial area.
In the encroachment drives 49 trucks, tata 407, 76 crains, 146 labours are deployed and approximately 355 tons scrap removed from the Mayapuri area during the period of three weeks. SDMC also takes the enforcement action in which illegally parked vehicles and temporary structures removed from the area.
SDMC has also conducted 12 meetings with STF under Deputy Commissioner, West Zone in the pursuance of the orders of the NGT.
During the drive SDMC has also issued challans to 271 units. The Civic body also conducted a survey of Mayapuri Industrial Area and total 2,530 units were found 575 units were running without trade license and all the units owners were directed to obtain the trade license.
404 factory owners have obtained trade license whereas challans have issued to 11 factory owners. Rest of the unit owners are also in the process of obtaining the trade licenses.
A night patrolling team has also been constituted to take coercive action against the unscrupulous elements which are carrying out illegal activities during the night and wee hours. SDMC has also written letters to Police authority to keep vigil in the area to prevent resurfacing of any illegal activity keeping in view of Supreme Court orders that Police has the responsibility to ensure encroachments do not resurface after encroachment removal drives.
