Gurugram: A day after a school bus carrying 25 children in Gurugram was attacked by members of fringe outfits, educational institutions in the city took no risks as many schools – especially in the outskirts of Sohna and beyond – remained closed on Thursday.
Some of the prominent schools included GD Goenka World School, Lotus Valley, Shree Ram, Ardee, Indus World, Pathways and Summer Fields School. The management of these schools said they will reopen on January 29.
"We were given the information through WhatsApp. As the mother of a nine-year-old, even I decided that it was better to be safe than sorry, "said Rashmi Malik, a parent.
Meanwhile, GD Goenka School stated it will felicitate the bus driver and teachers who survived the attack on the school bus on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Gurugram police on Thursday stated that 31 people were arrested for acts of violence across the city. The arrested included 10 men and eight juveniles arrested for vandalising the school bus.
