Schoolboys stab 25-yr-old to death in moving bus

NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, school students turned goons and murdered a 25-year-old man in a moving bus in New Friends Colony on Thursday.
The government school students first snatched the mobile of the victim and after he resisted stabbed him with a knife on his neck.
The victim, identified as Mohammad Anas, was pursuing BCom from a private university in Delhi. He was rushed to Holy family hospital where he was declared brought dead "These are all 8 to 10th class students. We have apprehended them and four of the five involved are juveniles. They are all students of a government school," said DCP South East, Romil Baaniya.
However, the incident has brought shock waves how school kids armed with knives are travelling unnoticed in the public transport. This incident also raises question on the working of the police in the area as incidents of pick pocketing and sometimes snatching was become a common sight in the buses in the area of New friends colony.
The interrogation of the apprehended boys revealed that they assembled together on Thursday afternoon and boarded in bus route number 479 near Ashram Chowk and inside the bus they first selected their target and later snatched the mobile phone of victim. When Mohammad Anas, resident of Moradabad, resisted, one of the boys stabbed the deceased on the neck and deboarded the bus.
Though the police has solved the case in 24 hours and recovered the snatched mobile, questions are raised over the safety and security of the passengers who often become victims of these snatching and pick pocketing. "This is serious issue. There are numerous incidents when mobiles are stolen and pick pocketed from the buses. If you raise an alarm, you might end up in a scuffle with these boys who often travel in large numbers. Police should act swiftly to curb this bus menace." said Rajkumar, a Delhi resident.
