School negligence found in boy's death, principal arrested

New Delhi: Three days after the death of the 14-year-old boy, police found negligence from the school side and arrested the principal. The police claimed that they have apprehended three students of the school who were found to be involved in thrashing the deceased.
Police sources claimed that during the investigation, they found that the school management has shown their negligence in taking the deceased identified as Awadesh to the hospital and also there were several laxities in the school. DCP had sent the advisory to schools regarding safety and security measures which were not followed. Police had found lapses from the side of schools.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Ajit Kumar Singla stated that they have apprehended three students who were involved in the incident and also the school principal was arrested.
Police sources claimed that during the investigation, they have found that Awadesh was beaten up by these students in which one of the students was earlier apprehended on the day of the incident. The family of the deceased have given police team four names who were involved in the students.
Day after the incident, the relatives of the deceased protested at the school as they had alleged that due to the negligence of school authorities they lost their child Awadesh.
Deceased's father Arvind told Millennium Post that when his son was lying unconscious, the school authority locked the door and started giving water to the child but the water was coming out from the mouth. "'Instead of taking the child to the hospital they took almost one hour to take my child to the hospital, it was their complete negligence leading to death of my child," said the father.
He further added that his another child Amit who studies in the same school would not be going there again. "I lost my one son, I don't want my other child to go there," said Arvind.
On Thursday, during the quarrel with other students, the boy became unconscious and later died. "The accused used to tease him through different nickname which resulted in the fight between them," said police adding that no injury marks were found on the body.
He further added that they were awaiting postmortem report to ascertain the cause of death. One boy was apprehended in the case.
