School kids will now be allowed to use DDA complex

NEW DELHI: School children will be permitted to use the DDA sports complex on payment of entry charges of Rs 15 per day and can also make monthly passes, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) took the decision on Tuesday.
The decision to this effect was announced in the meeting of the DDA's Sports Management Board (SMB) chaired by Lieutenant-Governor cum Chairman of Sports Management Board on Tuesday.
According to the official report, school children are permitted to use the DDA sports complexes on payment of entry charges of `15 per day. School children would also be permitted to use the free facilities at DDA sports complexes from 8 am to 7 pm daily for which monthly pass of Rs 300 would be issued. For facilities for which user charges are to be paid, school students would need to pay only 50 per cent of rates paid by members of the sports complexes.
"To facilitate utilization of facilities at DDA Siri Fort Sports Complex, for which there is always a huge demand, individuals who have taken three months temporary membership of the complex 10 times in the last five years, would be eligible for annual tenure membership.
The annual tenure membership would be renewable and after taking this for atleast 10 times, individuals would be eligible for applying for lifetime membership, subject to assessment of the capacity of the complex. Rates for one year tenure membership, including dependents would be Rs 5,000 for government category and Rs 8,000 for non-government category," said the report.
