The 42-year-old is the prime accused in the murder of the seven-year-old boy. Though Kumar, who was the bus conductor at the school, confessed to his crime, he later backtracked and said that he was tortured and threatened to own up to the murder.
The Central Bureau of Investigation had taken over the case from Gurugram police on Friday evening, after receiving the notification. On Saturday, its team along with the forensic experts visited the school to gather vital evidences.
Besides Kumar, the CBI has also taken the custody of the two senior officials of Ryan School management.
In another important development, the Gurugram police on Friday sent summons to the Pinto family, the trustees and founder of Ryan International School.
They have been asked to appear before the district police on September 26.
The move comes after the Punjab and Haryana high court on Wednesday ordered that there was no restriction on the arrest of the Pintos. They could possibly be arrested under Section 75 of Juvenile Justice act. If convicted under this act, they can be sentenced to maximum punishment of 10 years.
