Rohit Bal arrested for harassing neighbour

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Friday said they have arrested noted fashion designer Rohit Bal for allegedly fighting with one his neighbors in Defence Colony area of South Delhi.
Police claimed that the designer was under the influence of alcohol and he, along with three other men, had forcefully entered the house of a neighbour and threatened him.
All the arrested men were later released on bail.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Ishwar Singh stated that they have received the complaint from one Iqbal Singh, a resident of Defense Colony area, in which he had stated that Bal, along with Lalit Kumar, Ramesh and Pramod had forcefully entered his house, under the influence of liquor.
They then went on to threaten the complainant and created a ruckus.
According to the FIR accessed by Millennium Post, the complainant is a 51-year-old man and involved in the transport business.
The incident was reported around 3.10 am on Friday, when Bal reached the complainant's house and started abusing him.
"He started shouting on the road and began used lewd words. He then started kicking my front door and after I opened the door hearing the noises, he forcefully entered the house. Three other men entered the house forcefully and started threatening me," the complainant had said in his FIR.
The complainant further claimed that Bal and Lalit Kumar grabbed his neck and abused him. "When I made a call to 100, all of them fled the spot," said the complainant.
Police sources claimed that the incident was the fallout of a parking row between Bal and the complainant. The designer reportedly could not find a suitable parking space outside his home.
All the accused were sent for medical examination and tested for alcohol consumption.
A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered at Defence Colony police station. "Subsequently, all accused persons were arrested and released on bail," said Singh.
