Robots may replace humans to manage traffic in Ggn

Gurugram: Artificial intelligence and management of work through robots seems to be fast gaining ground in the Cyber city as their are reports that robots being used in certain manufacturing units may soonbe used in managing the traffic situation.
The private company that manages the Kherki Dhaula toll plaza have reserved two lanes where the traffic will be managed by the machines than actual human beings. Presently, the operation is being carried out on experimental basis. The step by the management comes at a time when there have been rising incident of violence against toll professionals.
Various toll attendants highlight that there is often a lurking danger of violence in dealing with aggressive customers.
Toll attendants highlight that often the customers who are not willing to pay the amount argue with the toll booth attendants in order to intimidate them.
Further, the toll booth attendants highlight that they continue to bear the ire of local commuters who accuse the toll booth attendants of harassing them. A major problem according to professionals is being faced in dealing with the local commuters.
"As per rules we are not allowed to charge them. However, they have to show a proper identity. As most of the people do not carry proper identity cards, the fact that we ask them to pay makes them angry and they start abusing us or in some case now physically assault us," said a toll booth attendant.
