Robber arrested for constable's murder

NEW DELHI: The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two criminals from Jahangirpuri here. Two pistols and ammunition have been recovered from the accused Firoz, alias Bhura, and Kanhaiya.
Firoz is a desperate criminal, with seven criminal involvements in the past. In 2014, he was involved in a case where a Delhi Police Constable was shot dead in Jyoti Nagar.
He also has cases of robbery, theft, criminal assault and possession of illegal firearms registered against him in Delhi and Ghaziabad.
"In 2014, he and his associate, also named Firoz, alias Fauji, were involved in the murder of a Delhi Police constable in Jyoti Nagar. Fauji, now deceased, had shot dead Constable Shiv Raj when he tried to stop the duo for checking at the Jyoti Nagar police picket," said Joy Tirkey, DCP Crime.
On November 2, around 5 PM, a police team apprehended both the accused when they reached Jahangirpuri on a motorcycle.
A loaded 7.65 mm pistol containing three rounds was recovered from Firoz, while a .315 bore country-made pistol with two rounds was recovered from Kanhaiya.
A case under the Arms Act was registered against the two.
During interrogation, the duo revealed they had planned to commit a robbery in Jahangirpuri.
