Road caves in near Ggm's Cybercity

Gurugram: Having already faced the brunt of heavy monsoon showers this season, Tuesday morning rains continued to bring in more miseries for Gurugram commuters. The same old story continued with major roads of the city getting a waterlogged and large number of Gurugram commuters getting stuck in the traffic jam during office hours. Having already received a lot of appreciation for their efforts Gurugram police again not allowing the traffic to stall.

Waterlogging in several parts of Gurugram on Tuesday morning following heavy rainfall during the night. Affected areas include Bristol Chowk, Rezangla Chowk, MDI Chowk, and the stretch between Iffco Chowk and MG road metro stations.

Having already faced a lot of embarrassment in terms of road caving in there was more in store for the commuters as the road near Cybercity caved in. Ironically there are more than 150 multinational companies that have their headquarters in the area. The cave-in of the road at the Cybercity follows just days after roads at IFFCO chowk underpass, MG road and Basai road also broke because of the poor structure of road getting exposed due to rains. In Basai the depth of the hole was more than 15 feet and is still in the process of getting rectified.

Few hours of rains and Gurugram roads turn into a river. During this, it is advisable to not travel by cars but by boats. What is even more shameful is that the recently revamped roads where hundreds of crores have been spent also get waterlogged," said Mayank Bharadwaj.

If the rains in many citizens expressing their anger against district planners what saved the day for the district administration was the proactiveness of Gurugram traffic police. Not only did the police department made sure that the citizens

of the situation of traffic digitally but more than 1000 professionals were on the ground managing the traffic. They, in turn, made sure e that the traffic moved slowly and did not get stalled.
