Ritu Maheshwari takes charge as NMRC's new MD

Noida: Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC)'s new Managing Director (MD), Ritu Maheshwari, took charge on Friday and held a review meeting with the officials discussing the last mile connectivity and a boost to the use of electric vehicles among others. The meeting took place at the NMRC Headquarters at Ganga Shopping Complex in Sector 29 of Noida.

Soon after taking charge, Maheshwari, who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Noida authority held a review meeting with executive director of the board P D Upadhyay, General Manager (technical) Manoj Vajpayee and other senior officials of NMRC and talked about the progress of the Aqua Line and other facilities that NMRC has introduced for the commuters since its inauguration on January 25, 2019.

The MD also discussed the future expansion plans of NMRC, and the NMRC team apprised her of the current status of the new Metro lines that are being planned in Noida and Greater Noida. She also discussed the measures that are being adopted by the NMRC to increase ridership and revenue.

The main focus of the new MD was on providing last mile connectivity to NMRC commuters and she urged NMRC officials to introduce various options as last mile connectivity, like E-rickshaws, E-bikes, etc to NMRC commuters.

Maheshwari also reviewed the performance of the Feeder Bus Service of NMRC. She also stressed upon developing charging stations for E-rickshaws and E-bikes by utilizing NMRC's parking lots.
