Retired NSG commando shoots friend dead in Ggn

Gurugram: Differences emanating out of a friendly relationship ultimately led to a horrific murder in Manesar in the outskirts of Gurugram late Wednesday night, where the sarpanch (village head) of Kasan village was shot dead shockingly by a retired commando of the National Security Guard (NSG).
Such was the rage inside the murderer, who was a dear friend of the victim Bahadur Singh, that he pumped nine bullets into the body of the deceased, from his licensed revolver.
After getting to know about the incident, family members of Bahadur Singh quickly rushed him to the private hospital for the treatment.
However, Singh breathed his last on the way to the hospital.
After the incident, the former NSG personnel, identified as Sundar Fauji, surrendered at the nearby police station.
Police have also arrested another accomplice Yashpal, who works as a teacher, while yet another accomplice recognised as Rampal is on the run.
The district police, meanwhile, have registered a case and begun investigations.
Sources in Gurugram police indicate that differences had emerged between the two on certain financial matters.
"We received the information about the case at around 8:30 pm on Wednesday night. We heard that the village head was shot dead. We have registered the case and begun investigations.
"As of now, it will be too premature for us to give full information in the case. We hope to solve the riddles involved in the case in the coming days," said Dharamveer Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Manesar)
"It is a big shock for me to know that this incident has taken place. The two knew each other well and there were times when they used to eat and drink together. Such was their friendship," said Omveer Singh, a resident of Kasan village who knew the victim and the accused well.
This is not for the first when a personal problem has resulted in NSG personnel taking an extreme step.
A serving NSG personnel committed suicide after firing gunshots at his wife and sister-in-law in 2017 at the staff quarters inside NSG campus in Manesar.
The deceased was identified as Jitender Kumar. Kumar succumbed to his gunshot wounds instantly.
The other two victims namely Guddan who was his wife and Khushboo, the sister-in law, had narrowly survived.
