Remains of cow slaughter found in Ghaziabad

Ghaziabad: Tension erupted in Ghaziabad district after remains of cow slaughter were found at a farm in Sakalpur village under Loni area of Ghaziabad on Monday morning. Senior Superintendent of Police of Ghaziabad attached, the Station house officer of Loni police station and a police post incharge, to district police lines in connection with the incident.

The incident came to light when few passerby spotted the carcasses lying at a field and immediately informed police at around 7:30 am. Later, several locals started gathering at the spot. Senior police officials along with heavy police force reached the spot to avoid any mishap and maintain law and order. As the news spread, Loni MLA, Nand Kishor Gurjar also reached the spot along with several supporters and sat at the spot demanding arrest of accused persons behind the incident. The MLA demanded quick actions against the culprits responsible for the incident.

Later, when senior police officials assured him of fair and quick probe into the matter, the MLA and his supporters went away.

"Two teams have been formed to probe the matter and arrest the culprits at the earliest. We have registered an FIR into the matter while the carcasses have been taken into police custody and have been sent to laboratories for examination. Heavy police force have been deployed into the region to maintain a state of law and order. We are expecting to make the arrest soon," said Upendra Kumar Agarwal, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad.

The officer further said that two senior police officials have been attached to district police lines after the incident.

"Following the incident, the Station house officer of Loni Police Station Umesh Kumar and police post incharge Sheespal Bharadwaj have been attached to district police lines for laxity in their duty. Further, investigations into the case are underway," added Agarwal.

The incident came just a few weeks after the Bulandshahr mob violence over cow slaughter in which two persons including a police inspector were killed by the angry mob.

Similar to the Bulandshahr incident, the carcass of cow were found at a farm in Loni area early on Monday morning.
