Rao Inderjit Singh to file nomination papers on April 19
Gurugram: The member of Parliament from Gurugram Rao Inderjit Singh, will file his nomination papers for the Lok Sabha elections, to be held next month, on April 19. Before going to the district election office to submit the papers, he would address a gathering of party workers and supporters at Gaushala Maidan near Sadar Bazar, members of his office said. Singh has won the Gurugram Lok Sabha seat four times and is a Union minister of state in the present BJP government at the Centre.
An election office would also be opened by the Gurugram MP on Saturday near Prem Mandir on Old Railway Road, to coordinate election-related activities in Gurgaon assembly constituency. "The election campaign has started and the morale of the party workers is quite high. We will hold meetings and rallies in Rewari, Pataudi, Mewat and Gurugram in the coming days. This election would be fought on issues of development and infrastructure growth in Gurgaon and south Haryana," said Singh.
Rao Inderjit began his campaigning on April 12 with three rallied in areas of Rewari and Bawal. BJP has placed the trust on Rao Inderjit Singh for the Gurugram Loksabha constituency seat. Singh will be hoping to win from the Gurugram seat for the fifth time. Rao Inderjit is a son of Rao Birender Singh who has also won from the Gurugram seat number of times.
Despite being a prominent leader nationally Rao Inderjit in the past has not shied away in expressing his displeasure on the workings of the state government. Recently he with the state government policy of moving the substantial portion of out of the Punjab land and preservation act (PLPA). He has also stated several times that it is the Central government that has played a much greater part in revamping the city's infrastructure in of roads and connectivity.
