Raid at Noida pub: Two arrested for illegally serving liquor to customers

Noida: In a joint raid conducted by excise department and Gautam Buddh Nagar police, two staffers including the manager of Imperfecto pub in sector 135 area of Noida and his assistant were arrested on charges of illegally serving liquor to customers without a licence.

The raid was conducted on late Tuesday night at Imperfecto pub situated at ABC tower in sector 135 of Noida. Cops said that the arrested staffers have been identified as manager Vikrant, a native of Nehru Nagar area in New Delhi and his assistant Anuj Kumar, a resident of sector 142 in Noida.

"The raid was conducted on the directions of senior officers to bust illegal sale of liquor in bars, restaurants and farmhouses. During checking the staffers of Imperfecto restaurant failed to produce licence to serve liquor. We have seized imported and branded liquor bottles in large quantity from the spot," said Rakesh Bahadur Singh, District Excise Officer of Gautam Buddh Nagar.

An FIR under sections 403 (dishonest misappropriation of property) and 63 of Excise Act has been registered and the pub will be sealed, police said.

Cops said that more sections will be added to the FIR if further violations are found. Police have seized huge quantity of illegal imported liquor, including nearly 150 beer bottles, whiskey, vodka, wine and rum.
