Property tax: Rs 294 cr lands in MCG kitty

The 25 percent discount offered by Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) has led to rich dividends for the municipal body in the Millennium City, with the civic body having collected Rs 294 crores in property tax.
More than 1,75,000 residents in the city across the four zones of MCG have so far paid their property tax.
With more than Rs 137 crore in collections, MCG Zone-III region – which consists of many posh colonies and major commercial centres – recorded the highest collection from any zone, with a significant margin.
Zone-III was followed by Zone-IV with Rs 66 crore, Zone-II with Rs 62 crore and Zone-I with Rs 26 crore in property tax collections.
