Prepare for 2020 Delhi polls: Kejriwal to AAP workers

NEW DELHI: Breaking the silence after the defeat of Aam Aadmi Party in the 2019 Lok Sabha election in Delhi and other states, Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday met the volunteers in Delhi where he said that the party could not convince people to vote on the basis of work done and people thought that it's a 'Bada Chunav' (big election).

"Now the bada chunav is gone and get prepared for the chota chunav (Vidhan Sabha election), this time do not vote for any name but vote for the work done," he said. He also told the volunteers to not feel demoralised due to the defeat. "You all have worked very hard. Do not feel demotivated," he said.

He also reiterated about the works done by the Delhi government in the sectors like education and health. He also raised the issue of raids by the Central agencies against the ministers of the AAP. The AAP this time fought the election with the demand of the full statehood of Delhi however, the Delhi CM did not talk about the full-statehood in this meeting.

Days after coming third in the Lok Sabha polls in the national capital, Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party on Sunday launched a slogan 'Kejriwal in Delhi' to gear up for the upcoming Assembly polls in the city. The slogan on banners 'Delhi mein toh Kejriwal...' ('Kejriwal in Delhi') can be seen all over at the meeting point of AAP national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal with Delhi state unit volunteers.

On Sunday, Kejriwal had called a meeting of Delhi state unit volunteers at the Punjabi Bagh Club here. The meeting was called to interact and discuss the future course of action of the party with volunteers. Delhi will have Assembly polls later this year or in early 2020.
