A pomegranate tree which had been planted last year by the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) in the premises of Brazil Embassy has started bearing fruit, giving officials of the Embassy and NDMC an occasion to celebrate on Thursday.
Brazilian Ambassador Tovar Da Silva Nune thanked NDMC for the "valuable gift given to our Embassy in New Delhi in the form of pomegranate."
The sapling plantation drive of the Council has been in full swing, with Chairperson Naresh Kumar saying that NDMC is most likely to achieve its target of 10 lakh saplings by the end of monsoon.
