Police still confounded... CCTVs lead to a dead end

A day after the several cases of women mysteriously getting their hair snipped was reported, the police are yet to make any headway in the case as the lack of any credible suspect has left them confounded.
As the police waits for the forensic results to come in, the relatives of the victims have told this paper that they had been sent WhatsApp text messages on several women getting their braids mysteriously chopped in several parts of Haryana and Rajasthan days before the incident but have claimed that they never thought that they would get to experience the same.
"We had all been getting the news from Rajasthan and Mewat about the similar incidents on WhatsApp. None of our relatives their experienced the same incident but they picked it up from local newspapers. I never thought our family would suffer this," said Rohit, one of the victim's mother.
In many of the cases, the local newspapers had reported as to how the women in the previous cases had lied about the mysterious braid chopping for attention and fanned rumors in the locality.
The police with the lack of any crucial leads are also looking into the angle and have already questioned several neighbors in connection with the case.
Earlier the police had claimed that it may be the case of robbers using drugs to make the women unconscious and steal their belongings which is why the additional charge of the robbery section was added along with the outraging the modesty of a woman.
The police had pinned the hopes on a CCTV grab showing three youths on a motor cycle and also developed their photo however that now appears to be a dead end.
"There was nothing suspicious that we found in the footage. We are not ruling out any angle in the case," said a police source.
The police have in the meantime collected the hair samples and taken photographs of the rooms inside which the incident took place to construct the sequence of events.
The victims of the braid chopping incident in the meantime had a busy day interacting with the media and the members of the community, who still remained terrified after the incident.
"My mother is exhausted. She does not have the time to rest as she keeps interacting with the community and sharing her experience," the official added.
