Police special team to deal with heinous crimes
New Delhi: A detailed investigation in any criminal case proves vital for the justice but sometimes city police have to deal with several other daily activities in their jurisdiction and with the time file related to crime keeps increasing on the police table. Taking note of the situation, Delhi Police started a pilot project in which a special investigating team will be there at the police station which will be dealing with only investigation of heinous cases and they will not be engaged in daily policing of the areas.
Police sources told Millennium Post that in three police stations in South West Delhi a pilot project is going on in which a special team only dealing with the investigation of cases instead of the day to day activity. "This project has been started a few days ago, the teams only focusing on the investigation in the cases which will increase the speed of investigation and also a detailed investigation will be there," said a police source.
Police sources further claimed that sometimes investigating officer of a case had to deal with other daily routines of the jurisdiction like vehicle checking, picketing but the special team will not have any such routine they will only focus on the investigation. The team will consist of constables, head constable sub-inspector or assistant sub-inspector and Inspector investigation and Station House officer will take care of the team.
The team will not be engaged in other police routine activity the main focus was to give a detailed investigation through which the victim get justice. "It is a pilot project we are checking if it is successful other police station in the Capital will have the investigation team," said a police official. The three police station where the project is currently going on been selected according to the crime in their jurisdiction. Police sources claimed that one of the police station where the project is running has more crime another police station have medium crime whereas the third police station has less crime in their jurisdiction.
