They were arrested under Section-75 of the juvenile justice act. If convicted, they can be sentenced to maximum punishment of 10 years. The police have also added section-34 (common intention) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) against the two.
Claiming that the accused were responsible for tampering with evidences at the crime spot, the prosecution counsels demanded addition of Section -201( causing disappearance of evidence of crime) of the IPC.
A team also went to Mumbai to question the top management of the Ryan group institutions following which it's CEO Ryan Pinto have applied for anticipatory bail in the Bombay High Court. His bail will be challenged by the legal team of Barun Thakur, father of Pradyuman Thakur.
The required action comes after the clamour for taking strictest of action against the school management was only growing day by day.
On September 10, Ram Bilas Sharma, the education minister had stated that even though there was no consideration of the government closing the school, they will take firm action against the management.
