Police issue traffic advisory for Full Dress Rehearsal

New Delhi: In connection with the Republic Day celebrations-2018, there will be a Full Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday. The rehearsal will have the same route as that of the parade on Republic Day.

The parade rehearsal will start at 9:50 am from Vijay Chowk and will proceed to Red Fort, an official of Delhi Traffic police said here on Monday.

There would be elaborate traffic arrangements by Delhi Traffic Police and restrictions in place for smooth conduct of the Parade along the route. The route of the parade would be from Vijay Chowk, Rajpath, India Gate, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg to Red Fort.

In order to facilitate smooth passage of the parade, movement of traffic on certain roads leading to the route of the parade will be restricted.

No traffic on Rajpath from Vijay Chowk to India Gate from 6.00 pm on Monday till the parade is over would be allowed. Similarly, no cross traffic on Rajpath from 11 pm on Monday at Rafi Marg, Janpath, Man Singh Road till Parade is over.

'C'-Hexagon-India Gate will be closed for traffic from 9.00 am on Tuesday till the Parade crosses Tilak Marg. From 10.00 am traffic on Tilak Marg, BSZ Marg and Subhash Marg will not be allowed on both directions.

"Road users are requested to plan their journey in advance accordingly and avoid the route of Parade, from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm, for their own convenience," said Garima Bhatnagar, Joint CP Traffic.

In a major development the Delhi police has also asked to the Google to facilitate the movement both of 23 January and 26 January.
