Talking to Millennium Post, Kumar said that the last words his mother said to him before leaving for work was to take care and eat the lunch on time.
"I never thought it will be our last conversation I was shocked when I saw her lying dead when I returned home," said the 26-year-old son.
A resident of Chhawla in south west Delhi, the deceased identified as Basanti, lived with her son and was 65-year-old.
Both mother-son were living happily together and son used to cook food for her mother.
Revealing the fateful evening of Saturday, Kumar said that he came back home from his work around 8:45 pm, and found the door unlocked. When he pushed it open and entered the house, he turned to the room on his left where he saw his mother lying in blood and her throat slit with a knife which was also lying nearby.
"My life turned upside down. The person whom I loved the most was not with me. After seeing her lying dead, I lost all my senses. Later I made a PCR call," said the son.
He added that her hair was open and the face turned black. The cot wood was also found broken.

"One of our relative was living with us for few months as he was working as a security guard but later he left his job and started smoking," said Hemant.
Seeing his new addiction, the woman told him to search for a new job but he did not pay any heed. There were also arguments between the mother and the relative after which he was asked him to leave.
