Police bust illegal arms manufacturing unit in Gzb

With the arrest of a person, the Ghaziabad police claimed to have busted an illegal gun-manufacturing unit and have also seized 31 pistols from their possession.
The accomplice of the arrested person is yet to be arrested and still at large.
The factory, being operated from a house in a village of Muradnagar town in Ghaziabad, was engaged in making guns to supply to the nearby areas which were mainly used in criminal activities, said police officials.
The arrested has been identified as Iliyas who hails from Muradnagar.
He was arrested from Karheda cut in Ghaziabad on late Sunday night, police said on Monday.
"A team had been working for the past few weeks to crack down on the gang that was allegedly manufacturing weapons in Ghaziabad district and selling them to criminals in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan. Following a tip-off, police from Sihani gate police station of Ghaziabad arrested a man with illegal country-made illegal guns which he brought with him to deliver to a customer," said Vinod Pandey, Station House Officer, Sihani Gate police station.
"Through police interrogations, Iliyas revealed that he along with his partner Mobin used to manufacture illegal guns in Muradnagar area. We have recovered 31 guns, sixteen cases of live ammunition, a black pulsar motor cycle.
"A case under sections 5/25 arms act has been registered against him at Sihani gate police stations. Our investigations are on to know the whereabouts of his partner," added Pandey.
