Foreigners get safety pointers from cops

NEW Delhi: A meeting with the foreign nationals residing in Delhi and NCR was organised in New Delhi to address the issues of foreign nationals residing in Delhi. Joint CP Southern Range Devesh Chandra Srivastava, Nodal Officer for Foreign Nationals from Delhi Police chaired the meeting.

The foreigners were briefed about the special helpline numbers of Delhi Police for foreign nationals that is 8750871111. They were also briefed about the constitutional provisions of India, which upholds the diversity of culture and traditions. He also suggested various measures taken by Delhi Police to the participants for their safety and security in the city. The foreign nationals were briefed to report their grievances to the local police nearest police station without any hesitation. All the participants were suggested that they should have the contact number of the DCP/Addl. DCP concerned and they may directly contact them in case local police station is not responding to their issues.

The participants were briefed that overstaying, keeping or consuming drugs, cheating by cloning of ATM/Credit cards, the opening of restaurants beyond permissible time, etc are punishable offences and all must abide by laws, rules & regulations.
