Petrol pump owner robbed at gunpoint

NEW DELHI: A petrol pump owner was robbed of Rs29 lakhs outside a bank where he along with his employee has come to deposit money in Outer Delhi's Sultanpuri.

The incident was reported at around 12:30 pm on Monday when the owner of the petrol pump along with one of his employee came at the bank on Kanjhawala road. As they got out from their car, it is said that 6 to 7 robbers were waiting for them and pounced on them.

One of the robbers also tried to shoot but somehow the pistol jammed. However, the duo could not provide any resistance to the robbers who managed to flee snatching the bag which contained approximately 29 lakhs. The police is trying to gather more information of the accused and scanning the CCTV footage to get more information of the accused.

The cops suspect that the robbers were tipped off about the movement of the cash and could have even done recee of the area before striking. The robbers fled after the loot.
