Parents protest against Ggn school over physical violence

Gurugram: Parents in large number assembled at the gates of Sheetla Vidya Peeth, a private school in Old Gurugram, and demanded immediate arrest of a professor who has been accused of mercilessly beating number of students.

The parents also demanded against the school principal who they alleged was not only shielding the professor but also tried intimidating one of the parents whose child was recently physically hit by the accused professor.

It has been alleged that in the heated argument that followed, the Principal refused to take action in the matter and warned them to not pursue the matter further.

The protests intensified after the school management filed a formal complaint against the parents for trying to destroy the public property.

Taking cognisance of the matter, the police has begun the investigation in the matter.

"I had no option but to protest against the school management after the refusal by the school authorities to take any action. My child was beaten black and blue by this professor and when he came he was not only hurt physically but also mentally. It is only later we realised that he had also beaten other children," said one of the parents.

This is not for the first time when parents have protested in large groups against the private schools in the city.

For the past few months, parents have expressed their unhappiness over high school fess that are being charged by the private schools in the name of maintenance.
