Our government has done a lot of good work in last 3 years: CM

NEW DELHI: Appreciating the works done by the Delhi government, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal claimed that no government in the country since the Independence has worked the way his government has been working 'tirelessly' in the last three years for the people.
Remarks from the CM, who is also chairman of the Delhi Jal Board, came after laying the foundation stone of the 26.80 ML capacity Under Ground Reservoir (UGR) at Sonia Vihar in Karawal Nagar on Sunday.
At another programme, the Chief Minister inaugurated the work of sewer line in Krishna Nagar, Lakshmi Nagar, Patparganj and Vishwas Nagar Assembly constituencies.
"We have constructed several such reservoirs in Delhi and this will change the water scenario of the area. The government is under oath to make sure that each household of Delhi gets water. Earlier, we used to see that such promises were made and foundations stones were laid around the election time but no actual work was done. We have changed that. I am here in the middle of you and the elections are two years away, Kejriwal said, adding that the UGR will be completed by the end of next year.
"We are providing power in Delhi at the cheapest price in the country. We have not let power tariffs to be hiked in the last three years. Twenty thousand litres of water is free for every household in Delhi. We laid water pipeline in 319 colonies and we are sure that we will lay pipelines and make drinking water available in every household of Delhi in next two years," he added.
The CM also lauded the government's efforts in health and education sectors.
He said, "There should be no politics over the works being carried out for public welfare like water, health, roads, sewage, schools, etc. Those who do politics over such issues are traitors and anti-nationals. Such political parties who do politics over such issues will face the wrath of the people of Delhi."
"Politics is not done by stopping welfare projects of public good. Delhi government is working honestly and tirelessly for the people of Delhi and that's why, the people love the government and the work done in the last three years," he added.
According to DJB spokesperson, the construction of the 26.80 ML capacity UGR at Sonia Vihar and laying of the peripheral pipelines in the area will enhance and rationalize the water supply of Karawal Nagar and Mustafabad. At present, the water is being supplied in these constituencies from old Sonia Vihar UGR and Yamuna Vihar UGR.
Similarly, in context of rehabilitation of sewer line, the spokesperson said that on completion of the work, the problems like untreated sewer overflow and several health issues owing to unhygienic conditions will be addressed. The total cost incurred in this project is Rs 129.78 crore.
The programmes were attended by Vice Chairman, DJB, Dinesh Mohania and other senior officials of DJB.
