One killed in fire at Narela shoe factory
New Delhi: A fire broke out at a shoe factory in Narela area of Outer North district on Tuesday, said an official, adding that one person died in the blaze.
The fire, that broke out at 3.15 a.m, spread across of the factory located in the Narela industrial area. "The factory comprised of basement, ground and two floors," said fire official.
According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS) fourteen fire tenders were rushed to the spot," the fire department official said.
The cause of the blaze is under probe, he added. Sources claimed that the investigation is going from the angle in the case to ascertain the reason behind fire including short circuit.
There were several combustible materials in the factory which acted as catalyst and fire were spread all over the place.
According to the official, soon after the fire was stopped the factory owner came to DFS claiming that one labourer was missing and after the search, his body was recovered. The incident came after a few days when nine persons were injured after a fire broke out inside a nail polish unit in Bawana area of Outer North district on Friday.
Recently, 17 persons were killed in an inferno inside Karol Bagh hotel on February 12.
