One arrested in LNJP sewer death case

New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested a 50-year-old store keeper in the death case of a sewer man in LNJP hospital. Deputy Commissioner of Police (central) Mandeep Singh Randhawa stated that they have arrested Prem Sagar, a temporary resident of quarter number one which is near PWD Enquiry in Pant Hospital and a native of Bihar. He is working with PWD LNJP as Beldar and store-keeper.
"Earlier he was booked under Sections 304/308/34 IPC and 7/9 prohibition of Employment as Manual Scavenger and their rehabilitation Act 2013 and was arrested from his quarter. At the day of the incident he was present at the spot and told the deceased to go inside the sewer," police said.
On Sunday 48-year-old man Rishipal died while cleaning the sewer in the premises of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan Hospital (LNJP) while three persons Kiran, Bhisen and Sumit were admitted to hospital.
"Kiran and Bhisen is still receiving treatment whereas we have launched a manhunt to nab the other accused who is the contractor in the case. One of the victims Sumit showed heroic effort and was able to save the life of two men," the police further said.
