On robbed bike, accused commit several snatchings

New Delhi: A 21-year-old man was robbed off his motorcycle near the Inderlok Metro station here, following which the accused committed a series of snatchings and robberies in north and central Delhi while riding the motorcycle robbed from the victim, the police said on Thursday.
Tarun, who was returning to his home in Wazirpur, was stopped by several men on two motorcycles on October 31 between 6-6.30 am, the police added. "One of them put a pistol to his head and another person to the stomach and took away his motorcycle," they said.
Police sources claimed that there was some negligence in registering the case. Jatin Narwal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (North) said that the matter will be inquired into and action will be taken in case any lapses are found.
Following the robbery, the accused, riding the robbed motorcycle snatched the gold chain of a man who was returning after dropping his child in central Delhi's Rajendra Nagar.Later, they robbed a retired 67-year-old bank employee, of his purse and some jewelry he was carrying, the police said. They also attempted to commit an incident of robbery in Ranjit Nagar but their attempt was foiled. The next morning, the accused robbed a man near Daulat Ram College while he was out for a morning walk.
After robbing him, the accused robbed a property dealer of his gold chain in the North Campus.
