Ola driver held for fake plaint against four Nigerians

Greater Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar police on Sunday have arrested a 24-year old cab driver, Ankur Kumar, for registering a fake case against four Nigerians alleging that they robbed his car.
The driver had filed a fake complaint on Wednesday that four Nigerian nationals had booked his cab from Akshardham Metro Station to Crossing Republic in Ghaziabad, robbed his vehicle and dumped him in Greater Noida.
Police have recovered the white Wagon-R car from his possession. The accused told police that he had got the cab from cab contractor against which he had to pay Rs 950 per day as EMI. Failing to pay the amount, he created the conspiracy.
Amit Kumar Shrivastava, Circle Officer, Greater Noida, said "We received the complaint on Wednesday from the cab driver following which we began our probe into the case. The investigations revealed that the complaint is fake and there was no involvement of any Nigerian person in the incident. However, the cab driver led the conspiracy in order to evade himself from paying the EMIs".
"An FIR under Section 420, 482, 472 and 182 of IPC has been registered against the accused in Kasna police station of Greater Noida. He will be produced in court and sent to judicial custody on Monday," added Shrivastava.
