Nursing assistant found dead in Rohini hospital

New Delhi: A nursing assistant in a private hospital was found dead in its washroom in the early hours on Monday.
Police are probing the case from all angles as no external injuries were found on his body and the washroom door was bolted from the inside.
The deceased was identified as Rahul (23) who lived in Sultanpuri area. Post mortem report and hence the cause of death is awaited but police suspects he might had injected poison into his own body.
His body was discovered by colleagues in the ICU patient bathroom.
No syringe was recovered from the spot but there are many in the ICU posing a challenge for the cops to zero in on the one he used, if he did.
Rahul had been working for the Santom hospital for the past two and a half years. So far, investigators have not ruled out murder but said he was depressed. This, said a senior police officer, was because his wife had left him in the recent past.
Sources in hospital stated that the deceased duty hours were from8 p.m. to 8 a.m. and he was last seen alive when he had reported for work.
Police have so far launched an inquest into the matter and said they would be talking to the hospital staff as well as his family members to establish the chain of events in the case.
On August 25, a 26-year-old Radiology intern was found murdered with his throat slit in his rest room of St Stephens Hospital in north Delhi.
According to police, the incident came to light in morning. The suspect who was another doctor, entered the hospital and at the room where the incident took place, entering through his punch card where he killed the deceased with a blunt object, possibly a surgical knife and then fled the spot.
