Now, Gurugram police to get its own snipers
Gurugram: With an objective to deal with terrorists as well as the deadly gangs, the Gurugram police will get its own snipers.
Recently, their officials of district police were trained at NSG camp in Manesar to enhance their skills.
With snipers being required for mostly terrorist operations, most states, including Haryana, are training their commandos for being snipers.
Their services are required not only to deal with criminals, but also with miscreants during rioting situations.
In the past, the law and enforcement officials had to deal with various situations where gunshots had been fired in densely populated areas of the city.
Once dependent on encounter specialists, Gurugram Police now want to play safe in using their services in dealing with the deadly gangs operating in Gurugram. For a long time, the services of the special men trained solely to kill was a strategy adopted for elimination of dangerous gang leaders of Gurugram. However controversial process involved during encounters, judicial intervention and high costs used for the department for encounter specialists has forced the Gurugram Police to change its strategy.
Sources in the Crime Branch said that there has been a reduction in the dangers posed by the deadly gangs.
