Now, book your ticket through mobile App on Aqua line

Noida: Aiming to provide a major relief to commuters, the Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) on Wednesday launched a mobile application through which the commuters can online book the tickets for newly inaugurated Aqua line between Noida and Greater Noida. Officials said that the facility of online ticket booking will be available only for the metro routes managed by NMRC.

As per NMRC officials, the new facility is aimed to decrease the load on the ticket counters. The mobile application can be easily downloaded from App Store as 'Noida Metro-NMRC'. Once the App is downloaded, a commuter can easily get the details of fare and select the metro station where they want to travel.

"Once the ticket gets booked, the commuter will get a bar code on their mobile. They just need to get that bar code scanned on the AFC gate at the entrance of the Metro stations. The gate will open after the display of code while the amount of fare will automatically be deducted from the account linked with the App. However, if the commuter fails to use the ticket in the time frame of 1.30 hours, then the ticket will be automatically cancelled," said Alok Tandon, Managing Directior, NMRC.

Meanwhile, the facility is only available for metro corridors managed by NMRC.

"Initially the facility will be available for Aqua line only. However when the new metro corridor between sector 32 to sector 62, will be opened for operations, the online ticket booking facility will be available for that route also," added Tandon.

Tandon further informed that the construction work at metro corridor between sector 32 to sector 62 is in its last stage and the track is expected to be thrown open to commuters within a month. He said that the final inspection of the track is scheduled at some date in February.
