Northern Railway GM inspects Central Hospital

New Delhi: Vishwesh Chaube, General Manager, Northern Railway, on Tuesday conducted an inspection of the Northern Railway Central Hospital, a referral and specialty hospital of Northern Railway in Basant Lane.
The GM visited various wards, OTs and the OPD section. He enquired about the ongoing works at the hospital and emphasised on cleanliness, lighting and beautification of the hospital and its surrounding area. He was particularly interested in various amenities for the patients. He showed keen interest in the facelift being given to the hospital, especially the façade, which he suggested should be like other vintage buildings of adjoining Rajiv Chowk (Connaught Place) area.
He inspected the staff canteen and the Northern Railway Women Welfare Organization run general canteen. He saw the ongoing renovation work of the kitchen there and directed to install air-conditioning in both canteens. A lift shall be provided for the convenience of the sick and elderly patients who need to visit the Savera, the building that houses various alternative therapy centres under Ayush.
Chaube exhorted the doctors to connect with patients and see to it that the patients and their relatives, especially those who are retired must be treated with care, compassion and respect. He was accompanied by Manju Gupta, AGM, Naveen Chopra, Principal Chief Engineer, RN Singh, Divisional Railway Manager and MB Shankhwar, Medical Director, Northern Railway Central Hospital.
