Noida: Two persons robbed in separate incidents, 1 killed
Noida: In two separate daylight incidents of robbery, armed robbers shot at a woman when she denied to put down window panes of her car in sector 23 area of Noida while in another incident the robbers took away around a lakh rupees in cash, laptop, cheque book and other valuables as they broke the window pane of the SUV car parked outside an office in sector 64 area of Noida.
In first incident, two unidentified bike borne assailants opened fire on a woman after she tried to resist the robbery attempt.
As per reports, Mary, a native of Kerala, lived in sector 23 area of Noida along with her family. On Sunday morning around 10 am when she was on the way to a nearby church, two bike borne assailants intercepted her car, few meters away from her house, and forced her to put down the window panes.
Mary resisted and started blowing her car's horn in order to raise an alarm. The assailants opened fire on her and fired around two rounds of bullet, However, none of the bullet hit her as she managed to lean back on the driving seat. Hearing gunshots, Mary's brother came out of the house and ran behind the robbers. However, they managed to flee the spot while no valuables were taken by them.
"The woman is safe and the bullets had hit Car's dashboard. We have registered an FIR into the matter and investigations are underway. CCTV footage showed that the the robbers were travelling on a black motorcycle. We are trying to identify them and are expecting to make a breakthrough soon," said Mithilesh Upadhyay, Station House officer of sector 24 police station.
In another incident, thieves broke into an SUV car and stole valuables after smashing the glass of car's window. The incident was reported from sector 64 area of Noida on Sunday afternoon.
Police officials said that the robbers took away nearly a lakh rupees in cash, a laptop, cheque book and other valuables from the car. Similar incident were reported from sector 12 and sector 49 areas of Noida as well in which the thieves had committed robbery in two different cars after breaking the window panes when the occupants of car had gone to nearby market after parking their vehicle.
