Noida-Greater Noida metro line to be inaugurated today

Noida/GR Noida: In a major relief to residents of twin cities Noida-Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will kick start the much awaited Noida-Greater Noida metro corridor which will mark its place among the most significant infrastructure projects in the district.

According to sources, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, Minister of state culture (independent charge) Dr Mahesh Sharma and all the three MLAs of the district will also accompany the chief minister at the inauguration of the metro.

As per Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) officials, the inauguration ceremony will be held at sector 137 metro station between 2:05 pm to 2:15 pm on Friday. The Chief Minister will flag off the metro at sector 137 metro station and will travel 14 stations to the last station at the Greater Noida Depot in the metro. The Union minister is also set to take a ride with the CM. However, the commuters can take ride in the metro corridor from January 26, a day after inauguration.

Ahead of CM's visit, the commissioner of Meerut zone Anita C Meshram along with CEO of Greater Noida authority, Narendra Bhooshan, and other senior administrative and police officials took stock of the security and other arrangements of the event, on Thursday. Heavy police force along with three companies of PAC deployed in the region who will manage security.

"In order to make the event successful and keeping in mind the VVIP visit in the district, heavy police force will be deployed in every nook and corner. Around 1500 security personnels including police forces and PAC parties will look over the security arrangements in the district," said a senior police officer.

Apart from this, the CM is also likely to inaugurate six key infrastructural projects and will lay foundation stone for three other projects of Noida authority. The to be inaugurated projects include the new six- lane bridge over the Yamuna River at Kalindi Kunj, Dada-Dadi park at sector 62, Traffic Park at sector 108, widening of bridge at Shahdra drain, a command control room in sector 94 and Shilp Haat in sector 33 area of Noida.

Apart from these, the CM will also lay foundation stone for a 5.5 km long elevated road between Chilla Regulator and Mahamaya Flyover along Shahdara drain which will connect Mayur Vihar Phase-I with Mahamaya Flyover on the Noida- Greater Noida Expressway.
