Nodal officers to check encroachment of govt land

NEW DELHI: The Irrigation and Flood Control Department of Delhi government has appointed executive engineers as nodal officers to ensure that its properties remain encroachment free.
According to officials of the department, the nodal officer will ensure that the government's properties, under the jurisdiction of a particular nodal officer, is properly maintained and protected from encroachment.
An official said that additionally, the nodal officers have also been directed to keep proper record of each and every property or assets under their jurisdiction.
"The department has asked all nodal officers to submit a monthly report on the steps taken, along with details of properties of the department, by every seventh of the following month to the chief engineer," the official added.
He further said that if there any encroachment is reported on the property assigned under the jurisdiction of a particluar nodal officer, appropriate action would be taken against him or her.
