No sealing on 351 roads exposes BJP's stand: AAP

NEW DELHI: The Aam Aadmi Party on Thursday said that the sealing drive had not taken place on the 351 roads, the notification of which for commercial and mixed land use was still pending.
The Bharatiya Janata Party had alleged that traders were suffering because of the ongoing sealing drive, which was a result of the government's failure to notify these roads.
However, AAP spokesperson Dilip Pandey on Thursday said, "We asked the Corporation, how many shops or business establishments on the non-notified roads were sealed? They have written (that) no sealing has taken place on 351 roads."
He also questioned the stand of BJP leaders on the issue, claiming that the BJP was exposed by the reply and its leaders were trying to fool Delhi traders.
Refuting allegations that the AAP-led Delhi government had not been able to notify the roads for mixed use in the Capital, Pandey said the notification process was in the hands of municipal corporations which had not yet given the suggestions necessary to initiate the process.
Pandey said that the BJP MPs from Delhi should convince the Centre to bring an ordinance or amend the Delhi Master Plan 2021 to stop the sealing drive, if they really cared about traders.
"On the first day of the Budget session of the Delhi Assembly starting Friday, the party plans expose the BJP's incompetence," AAP chief spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj said on Thusday. He added that AAP would also pressurise the Centre to bring an ordinance to put an end to the sealing drive.
