Nine including married couple held for over dozen robberies
Noida: Accused in over a dozen cases of robbery and loot, nine robbers – including a married couple – were arrested by Gautam Buddh Nagar police from Sector-20 area of Noida.
Police on Wednesday said that the arrested accused have been identified as Deepak, Neha, Vinay Pathak, Prashant Chaudhary, Saif Ali, Om, Vijay Kumar, Arjun and Kundan.
Police said that all these accused are residents of Harola area of Noida, except Deepak and Neha, who were married to each other and lived in New Ashok Nagar area.
Arun Kumar Singh, Superintendent of Police, Noida, told reporters that all the arrests were made from sector 95A area of Noida, while they were distributing the swag amongst themselves. "Upon interrogating the arrested accused, they told police that they use to keep Neha in their compnay in every robbery incident, so that no one would be suspicious of their presence," said Singh.
Singh further said that the accused were involved in over a dozen robbery incidents in Sector-18 market, Sector-27 Indira Market, Brahmaputra Market, Ganga Complex and other posh markets of the city.
Police have seized 26 mobile phones, a LED TV, cash and other valuables from the possession of criminals.
