GREATER NOIDA: Two days after a staffer of a private school Greater Noida was arrested for allegedly sodomised an 11-year-old Nigerian-origin student inside the school premises, a group of Nigerian nationals on Friday staged a demonstration outside the school demanding strict and immediate action to be taken against the school administration.
The protesters also demanded arrest of the school principal, alleging that she was equally responsible for the heinous crime. Holding placards in their hands, they raised slogans against the school administration.
One of the protesters said, "We are gathered here to demand justice for the victim's family. Our children are not safe inside the school. The principal should also be held guilty for the inhuman act."
Later in the day, the principal of the school Mukta Mishra held a meeting with a delegation of Nigerian nationals, in presence of police officials, and assured them that they will not tolerate such mishap with any student.
"We have suspended the accused book seller after the incident and have demanded the management to terminate his services permanently. We have assured the Nigerian nationals to cooperate with the police in their investigation," Mishra said.
A few days ago, the police lodged a FIR against the accused Ashok Mishra, based on the complaint filed by the victim's parents.
The parents had stated that their child had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by the culprit for the past four-five years.
Soon after the complaint, police arrested the accused from the school premises itself.
Meanwhile, the District Administration School Committee of Noida found the school authorities guilty of not following CBSE guidelines and issued a written show-cause notice to the school.
