Nigerian national's body found in drain in Saket

NEW DELHI: The body of a male Nigerian national was recovered from a drain in Saket area of South Delhi. Police said that the deceased was declared brought dead to the hospital.
The city police claimed that there were no injury marks on the body of the deceased.
Police sources said that a PCR call was received on Saturday at Saket police station, about a person who fell into a drain near gate number one of Saket Metro station.
Soon after getting the information, a team from the police station reached the spot and the concerned departments were informed to kick off the rescue operation.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chinmoy Biswal stated that with the help of the fire department, the victim was pulled out from the drain.
The victim was discovered to be an African national, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
In the course of the investigation, the police team determined his age to be in the mid forties.
However, they had no clue about his identity.
A few hours later, the deceased was identified as Fakos Sunny Ligali, a resident of Nigeria.
Police further said that the victim's body has been sent to AIIMS, and as per a medico legal report, there are no injury marks on his body.
Police are now investigating how he ended up in the drain. "We are investigating the case from all angles," said a police official.
