Nigerian national held for supplying cocaine

NEW DELHI: A team of Delhi Police Crime Branch arrested a Nigerian national from west Delhi's Dwarka area and recovered a total of 110 gms cocaine from his possession, estimated to cost around Rs 20 lakh in the international market.
Police said the accused Chidi Ibekwe, alias Prince, did not have any valid visa/passport to stay in India.
25-year-old Ibekwe, a native of Engua, Nigeria, had been residing in Phase-5, Om Vihar in Uttam Nagar.
The accused had come to India around two years ago on a work visa and took shelter Uttam Nagar.
He began a business of importing Nigerian fish and, after some time, married a Ugandan woman and married.
Later, he came in contact with another Nigerian national John, who lured him into drug trafficking to earn a quick buck.
Soon, Ibekwe started supplying cocaine in various parts of Delhi and Gurugram, on the instructions of John, to his various contacts.
On January 17, he had come to supply cocaine to one of his contacts in Dwarka, where he was arrested by Crime Branch.
