SDMC to buy mini road sweepers to keep streets dust & garbage free

In order to ensure cleanliness of its area, the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has decided to procure 30 mini road sweeper vacuum machines for cleaning roads under the jurisdiction of the Corporation. SDMC Mayor, Shyam Sharma on Monday said that an amount of Rs 4.67 crore has been sanctioned for this purpose. The machines will be deployed in all the four zones as per requirement.

"The machines are being procured to make all roads dust and garbage free keeping in view the message of Swachh Bharat Mission. The new machines will clean and sweep the roads that are less than 60 feet. The mechanical sweeping will help in effectively remove dust and waste from the roads and gradually minimise manual sweeping. The mechanised sweeping will also curb the dust level, hence overcoming the level of pollution on the roads," he added.
