Newly-wed woman found dead at in-laws' house in Gzb

According to police the deceased was identified as Karishma Yadav, a native of Etah district of Uttar Pradesh.

Karishma got married to Shekhar, a native of Ghaziabad, four months ago.

The incident came to light on Saturday afternoon, when Karishma's mother-in-law went to her room and found her hanging. She immediately alerted other family members at home. Karishma's husband and father-in-law were, however, out for work when the incident took place, said police.

Police suspect that a family dispute could have led her to take the extreme step and have registered a case of dowry death against in-laws.

"Prima facie investigations have revealed that the was not having good relations with her husband. We have registered a case based on the complaint given by the victim's family members and investigations are underway," said Jaikaran Singh, SHO, Ghanta Ghar police station. Cops also found an audio clip, where Karishma talked to a relative of hers about her marital troubles.
