New road between Noida, Greater Noida West to be ready in next six months

Noida/Greater Noida: After missing several deadlines in past, the much awaited new road between Greater Noida West and Noida phase III area, which will benefit commuters who want to travel between Noida, Greater Noida and Ghaziabad, will be ready and thrown open to the commuters within next six months, said Noida Authority officials on Thursday.
"As all the hurdles that delayed the project have been cleared, we have a target to complete work on this road by the end of this year and open it for public use. However we are making all possible efforts to get it complete within the next six months so that the commuters, who face daily traffic snarls at Gaur City Chowk may get an alternate road to land their homes in no time," M L Rawat, project engineer, Noida authority told Millennium Post. According to officials, the Noida authority has started the first phase of construction work at a patch of 400 meters while the other patch of around 500 meters is still pending due to land acquisition issues.
"The authority has acquired a large portion of land that is needed to construct the road. However some portion is left to get acquired which is expected to be completed within next 10 days. The farmers will hand over their lands to the authority once they are done with cutting the wheat crops," added Rawat.
Officials further said that the Noida Authority has to construct the 900 meters link road between the bridge over Hindon river and the Faridabad-Noida-Ghaziabad (FNG) expressway in the vicinity. The road, once built, will connect Greater Noida at Sectors 1, 4, and 16A with Noida near Sectors 73, 74, 77, 78, 79, 84, 121, and 122.
Once the new road is operational, lakhs of commuters who travel daily between Noida and Greater Noida will have easy ride as their travel time will be cut by half, to less than 20 minutes, as the distance that they travel would be reduced by 7-8km.
