New road between Noida and Greater Noida West misses deadline yet again

Noida: The much-needed under-construction road between Greater Noida West and Noida Phase-III area yet again missed the new deadline. Around half-a-year ago, the authority promised that the project would be over by December but the new deadline has been revised to March 2019, said sources. According to engineers of Noida Authority, the work on a minor patch of the road is still left while the rest of the portion is complete.

The Noida authority has to construct the 900 meters link road from which the authority initially started the first phase of construction work at a patch of 400 meters while the other patch of around 500 meters was pending due to land acquisition issues as the farmers awaited harvest of the wheat crop.

"The project got delay ed due to issues regarding land acquisition but it has been amicably resolved now. The project is in its final stages and we have set a deadline to complete it by March 31," said M L Rawat, project engineer, Noida Authority.

The road, once built, will connect Greater Noida at Sectors 1, 4, and 16A with Noida near Sectors 73, 74, 77, 78, 79, 84, 121, and 122. Once operational, lakhs of commuters who travel daily between Noida and Greater Noida will have it easy as their travel time will be cut by half, to less than 20 minutes, as the distance that they travel would be reduced by 7-8 km.
