Neighbour on the run after raping three-year-old girl in Greater Noida
Greater Noida: In another gruesome incident, a three-year-old girl was raped by her neighbour, who locked her elder sister in another room, in Sector-Eta One area of Greater Noida on Monday.
The victim belonged to a family of labourers and lived with her grandmother, as her mother had died a few years ago.
On Monday afternoon, when the grandmother had gone to the market, the culprit entered the house, locked the five-year-old elder sister in a room, and raped the three-year-old girl.
He fled the spot, after the girl started screaming and other neighbours came to her rescue. The grandmother found the girl bleeding profusely when she came home and fainted.
A PCR call was then made, following, after which police came and took the victim and her family to Surajpur police station.
Her relatives alleged that they were mistreated by police and made to sit on the floor for more than half an hour, without registering the complaint or providing medical aid to the child.
Later, when the news spread, senior officials intervened and the girl was taken for medical examination and a complaint was registered.
"Based on the complaint given by victim's family, a case has been registered. The victim has been sent for medical examination, reports of which are awaited. We have launched an investigation and are conducting searches at various locations to nab the culprit" said Akhilesh Pradhan, SHO, Surajpur police station.
